Overview

The Data Export feature in the LoginRadius Admin Console provides a simple, secure way to extract your customer data for analysis, migration, or compliance. You can generate exports instantly or at recurring intervals, choose between JSON and CSV formats, and protect each export with robust encryption, ensuring the safety of your data.

This section walks you through configuring On-Demand and Scheduled exports, with added guidance on use cases and best practices.

Note: For performance and compliance, LoginRadius restricts individual export requests to 1 million user records. Exceeding this limit will trigger an error.

Business Use Cases

The data Export feature is a flexible solution that empowers you to handle various business scenarios where secure and timely access to customer data is essential.

  • Compliance & Auditing: Meet data protection and audit requirements by exporting complete or filtered user records on demand or on schedule.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Integrate exported CSVs with BI dashboards, analytics engines, or spreadsheet tools.
  • Marketing Operations: Pull targeted customer segments for personalized campaigns or CRM syncs.
  • Third-party Integrations: Sync data with vendors or external systems without direct API access.
  • Customer Support & Account Analysis: Provide support teams with complete profiles for troubleshooting.
  • Churn Prediction: Analyze past user activity to predict and reduce customer churn.
  • Cross-team Collaboration: Share consistent datasets across sales, product, and growth teams.

Exporting Method

There are two types of exporting methods provided by LoginRadius.

  • On Demand Export
  • Scheduled Export

The On-Demand Export process is designed to be simple. It allows you to easily generate a snapshot of your customer data within a specified time range.

Follow the below steps to create the On-Demand Export:

  • Log in to your Admin Console and navigate to Insights > Data Export.

  • Click the Add a New Request button in the On Demand Export section.

  • In the popup:

    • Select Export Data: In this section, you must choose the type of data you want to export. Dropdown will show the following option:

      • Profile: Exports only user profile data.
      • Custom Object: Exports only custom object data.
      • Profile and Custom Object: Exports both profile and custom object data.
    • Select Export Type: Choose between CSV and JSON.

    • Select Fields (for CSV only): Choose the fields you wish to export.

    • Set Date Range: Define the Start and End date for the data.

    • Comment (optional): Add internal notes about the export.

    • Add Recipients: Input email addresses to receive the data file.

    • Set Encryption Key: Enter or generate a password. This will be required to open the downloaded file.

  • Click Request Export.

The new request will appear under the On Demand Export table with a status and options to delete if needed. Once the export is complete, recipients will receive an email with the secure, password-protected file.

Important: The encryption key is not recoverable. Store it securely, as you’ll need it to open the ZIP file.

Export Logs

Export Logs provide a detailed record of all past export activities, including status, timestamps, and downloadable links.

Access and Use Export Logs:

  1. Navigate to Insights > Data Export and scroll to the Export Logs section.

  2. Review each entry, which includes:

    • Start/End Time (UTC)

    • Download Link (if active)

    • Expiry Time

    • Comment (if added during setup)

    • Status (Expired, Completed, etc.)

  3. If the link is valid, click Download and open the ZIP file with the saved encryption key.

Note: Links expire after 3 days. If missed, a new export request must be created.

Best Practices

To make the most of the Data Export functionality while maintaining security and efficiency, follow these recommended practices:

  • Use scheduled exports for routine backups or integrations to minimize manual work.

  • Secure your encryption key: Losing it means you can’t open the export file.

  • Select only necessary fields to keep exports lightweight and fast.

  • Avoid overlapping date ranges in on-demand exports to prevent duplicated data and ensure clean reporting.

  • Monitor export logs regularly to verify completion and track export trends.

  • For large data volumes (more than 1 million records), contact LoginRadius support for assistance.
