Security
As a weather content and technology company, Pelmorex collects a significant amount of weather data, including data about their customers, with their permission. With customers across North America and Europe, it was essential for Pelmorex to be able to store customer data in a way that complied with regional regulations so that their users could be sure their data was safe and secure.
Performance and scalability
Many Pelmorex products depend on providing live, up-to-the-minute data for customers. Pelmorex made it clear that performance and system availability were critical factors when deciding between CIAM vendors. Pelmorex also planned for significant growth in their customer base. They needed a solution that would be stable enough to handle the peak loads that they experience on a daily basis and that could also scale to meet their growing customer demands.
Internal resources and maintenance time
Dealing with identity management issues was taking the company’s focus away from building and improving The Weather Network and MétéoMédia brands. Since Pelmorex lacked expertise in identity management, their development team was forced to use up time and resources dealing with login and password issues, often resulting in a poor customer experience. Pelmorex needed a CIAM expert to spearhead all identity management related issues so they could focus all their efforts on their key business operations.

The immediate ROI for Pelmorex was the money saved by purchasing a CIAM platform from LoginRadius as opposed to building their own in-house solution. How did we do it?
Federated SSO with SAML
Pelmorex leveraged the LoginRadius SAML capabilities and the LoginRadius API to build their customer support portal with Jira. Customers using The Weather Network and MétéoMédia can now seamlessly gain access to the customer support portal.
Regional data center in Canada
With multiple data centers across the globe, LoginRadius allowed Pelmorex to store their customer data in locations dependent primarily on compliance with privacy law requirements and secondarily based on their choice. For security and compliance reasons, Pelmorex needed to store data for its Canadian customers locally within Canada. Their customers can now trust that their data is being stored safely and securely.
Email and social login
LoginRadius helped Pelmorex streamline the login and authentication process by giving their customers multiple ways to log in to their digital platforms. Customers can choose to log in with standard email and password or with the social provider of their choice. This setup has helped reduce the number of login issues and password resets that the Pelmorex development team has to address.
Language support
Operating in Canada, The Weather Network and MétéoMédia needed to support both English and French login and authentication processes. The LoginRadius Identity Platform can be customized to support multiple languages, and LoginRadius provides the necessary tools, documentation, and support to customers during the implementation process to ensure correct configuration for each of the languages.
Data migration
LoginRadius was able to quickly migrate all customers under The Weather Network and MétéoMédia brands to the LoginRadius Cloud Directory. Not only was this migration done securely and efficiently, but it was also done in a way that ensured there would be no interruptions to the customer experience across each digital platform.
Dedicated support team
From the initial stages throughout implementation and deployment, the LoginRadius support team was available 24/7, even though Pelmorex was in a different time zone. This support meant that Pelmorex could immediately resolve any issues they faced, maintain the system availability they needed, and provide their customers with a consistent digital experience.
