What is Session?

The total time devoted to any activity within a network is defined as a session. When a user signs in to a network or a software service in a computer system, the session begins. It ends when the user either logs out or shuts down the device. A website or an application can use sessions to enhance security and privacy for users and depending on different business needs and stringency, it can vary for different websites and applications.
