Harry Rosen Inc. is Canada’s premier retailer with an extensive collection of men’s fashion wear from the world’s finest labels, latest must-have designers, and its very own signature brand.
Harry Rosen and his brother, Lou, opened the first store in Cabbagetown, Toronto, 60 years ago, in 1954. Today, the company has 16 stores in 8 major Canadian markets, employing over 700 associates.
Since 2012, Harry Rosen has been acknowledged as a Platinum Club Member of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies and recognized as one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures. The proud Canadian retailer was also named one of the 10 Most Influential Menswear Stores in North America by MR Magazine in 2014, the only retailer outside of the United States to make the list.
Challenges
A Connected Digital Experience
Harry Rosen knew that the cornerstone of personalization is identity management. Whether in-store, online, via social media, or at any other touchpoint, the Canadian retailer was looking for a partner that could manage their consumers proactively and give them a smooth and sleek experience.
Harry Rosen approached LoginRadius so they could leverage the platform to simplify access and create a brand new consumer login experience. Also, when the men’s retailer shifted over to their new site, they wanted to ensure a frictionless transition of consumer identities.
Security and Governance Done Right
The volatile cyberthreat landscape presented new challenges for the highly recognized retailer. Harry Rosen decided to embrace the opportunity and modernize its infrastructure to create a secure experience for its consumers. For LoginRadius, that meant storing data in a secured location with the latest hashing algorithms.
Harry Rosen was also conscious of keeping up with the shifting regulatory demands. It wanted to give consumers more awareness and control over their data and self-manage their privacy choices. With LoginRadius, the retailer now meets the requirements of Canadian data privacy laws with all consumer data stored within Canada. Additionally, it covers modern security standards and threat mitigation practices like protection against phishing and credential stuffing attacks.
Implementation
Single Sign-On
Harry Rosen was conscious of the fact that consumers find it exhausting to use multiple credentials to log in to multiple accounts. They wanted to unify their consumer journey which led the company to collaborate with LoginRadius and implement Single Sign-On (SSO) into their systems. This included integration with a headless ecommerce platform that allowed them to create a single account for the entire Harry Rosen digital platform.
Passwordless Login
Harry Rosen quickly realized they needed an identity solution that could power high-quality registration and login experiences. This was possible by allowing consumers to go passwordless.
The retailer leveraged the LoginRadius Passwordless Login feature to allow consumers to quickly sign-up without the need for a password. Now, they are sent an email with a login link, clicking on which they are instantly let in.
Password Migration
Password migration is usually a resource-intensive and critical task for any new platform or digital project. Harry Rosen wanted their current registered consumers to use their existing passwords to access the new web application.
LoginRadius not only ensured that all hashed passwords were migrated seamlessly, but it also upgraded any password with older hashing algorithms to industry standard requirements.
